Napoli have reportedly made a new offer to Bologna for Dan Ndoye, a loan with obligation to buy for €35m plus add-ons, but Nottingham Forest remain contenders too.
The winger is in an unusual situation, having effectively agreed personal terms with both these clubs, so is waiting to see who can reach a deal with Bologna over the transfer fee first.
That will not be easy, as the Rossoblu are in no rush to sell, having already parted with defender Sam Beukema towards the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Now transfer pundits Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano claim that this evening Napoli put forward a new bid for a loan at €9m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for a further €26m.
There are also another €5m on top in performance-related bonuses, taking the full fee to a maximum of €40m.
It is very similar to the proposal that proved effective for Napoli to sign Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese.
Now it remains to be seen if Bologna will accept, or wait for Nottingham Forest to respond in a bidding war.
