Antonio Conte and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis are expected to sit down and discuss their future together once the Serie A season comes to an end, while Juventus plot a double swoop for the Partenopei coach and striker Victor Osimhen according to Monday’s reports.
Juventus are still reviewing options over the appointment of a new, permanent head coach once the 2024-25 season comes to an end.
Igor Tudor is currently in charge on an interim basis after replacing Thiago Motta in March, on a contract until the end of the FIFA Club World Cup, which will run from mid-June to mid-July.
Tudor is one victory away from securing Champions League qualification, while Conte is one win away from securing the Serie A title in his first season in charge of Napoli.
There are, however, growing reports that Conte could be interested in a return to Juventus once the 2024-25 season is wrapped up.
According to various reports, most recently from Alfredo Pedulla and Calciomercato.com, Napoli President De Laurentiis has already met with another former Juventus head coach in Massimiliano Allegri, who is one of the prime candidates to take over in the event that Conte leaves for Turin.
Additionally, Monday’s reports confirm that De Laurentiis and Conte are due to sit down at the end of the season and discuss their respective plans for the future.
Juventus will also hold a management meeting in June to discuss their plans for the 2025-26 season, for a new head coach and for the summer transfer market.
Monday’s reports suggest that Juventus appreciate the efforts made by Tudor over the last two months, but that they would be prepared to ‘go all in’ for Conte if he becomes available.
The latest updates add that Juventus are keen on making it a ‘double-deal’ with Napoli, as they also hope to pull off a deal for Victor Osimhen, who has been on loan at Galatasaray from the Partenopei in 2024-25.
The Nigeria international is expected to be sold in the summer transfer window, with a €75m release clause valid for teams outside of Serie A. Recent reports claim that Juventus are willing to go above and beyond the release clause in Osimhen’s Napoli deal in order to convince the Partenopei to sell him to them and not to a team abroad.
