As we revealed yesterday, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is making strides in his all-out effort to bring Antonio Conte to the Diego Maradona Stadium. Today, Calciomercato disclosed the financial details of the filmmaker’s offer to the former Inter and Juventus coach.

Napoli would ideally tie Conte down to a three-year contract until 2017 worth a substantial €7 million per season, plus an additional €2m in add-ons. De Laurentiis is reportedly hellbent on making the official announcement by Tuesday.

Conte is, indeed, a perfect fit for the club’s current state. His charisma and tactical ingenuity are what Napoli need so desperately to recover from a humiliating 2023/24 Serie A season. And since it’s been over a year since his last dugout appearance, he’ll be keen to impress.

After ending a 33-year Scudetto wait, Napoli have produced the worst title-defending campaign in Serie A history and are on the verge of missing out on European football. It could’ve been a sticking point in their attempts to hire Conte, but De Laurentiis can be persuasive.

The Partenopei bigwig has convinced the ex-Tottenham boss to take the steering wheel of a sinking ship in a last-ditch attempt to revive his squad. Conte’s arrival should put a stop to rumors linking standout performers Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Khicha Kvaratskhelia with summer exits.

However, Conte will probably have to orchestrate the southern giants’ comeback without Victor Osimhen. It’s a near certainty that the Napoli talisman will continue his career abroad, with several Premier League sides vying for his signature.
