Sources tell Football Italia that the Partenopei resumed talks for the Swiss winger in the last few hours after Bologna had rejected their approach during the January transfer window.
The Partenopei are aware that Bologna value Ndoye at €40m, but the fresh Serie A winners are trying to lower the Rossoblu’s demands.
Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa and Lazio’s Mattia Zaccagni are two other targets to keep an eye on for Napoli, but the priority remains the Bologna winger, scorer of nine goals in 41 appearances across all competitions in 2024-25.
Ndoye isn’t the only Bologna player tracked by Napoli, as the Partenopei are also looking at Sam Beukema as a defensive reinforcement.
Bologna are a financially healthy club, so the Partenopei are aware that talks for the Rossoblu pair will be demanding.
Talking to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday, Chiesa refused to rule out a return to Serie A this summer.
“That’s something to think about during the summer,” said Chiesa.
“My family, my agent and I have a great relationship with Liverpool, and the goal is to be ready for the pre-season. We’ll find the best solution for everyone.
“I work every day with a Liverpool program to be in top shape for the tests on July 8.”
Ndoye’s agent, Fahd Adamson Mansoor, spoke about the winger’s future in May.
“Bologna is a healthy club where he had the chance to play consistently and become one of the best players in the league,” he said.
“We must sit down with Bologna and understand. Dan has grown, and we must understand what Saputo’s club wants to do. Many clubs want him, and I can’t deny that we receive requests from Europe every day.
“We must make assessments alongside the club, so it’s too early to say what will happen. There are requests and surely he’s ready for the next step. But he has already made history with Bologna, so we can’t rule out that he’ll do it again, right?”
