New Napoli signing Lorenzo Lucca has praised his teammate Romelu Lukaku, calling him “one of the best strikers in Serie A”, revealing he “often ask him for advice, I want to learn as much as possible from him.”

Speaking to RadioCRC, with quotes via AlfredoPedulla.com, from Napoli’s training camp in Dimaro, the 24-year-old described the “special atmosphere here at Napoli, everyone made me feel so welcome.”

New Napoli man Lucca on special relationship with Buongiorno

Lucca was in good spirits in the interview, joking “no-one… [laughs, ed] I’m kidding! I have a special relationship with Buongiorno, we’ve known each other for a long time. But the group is tight-knit, united and everyone works with great dedication. The defenders push me to give my best and that’s a good thing, it helps you grow.”

The Italian forward, who signed earlier this month from fellow Serie A side Udinese, scored his first goal for the club yesterday in a pre-season friendly against Catanzaro. Lucca converted from the penalty spot in the 7th minute to double the Neapolitan side’s lead, after Giacomo Raspadori’s opener shortly before.

When asked how it felt to score, Lucca replied “Scoring was great but even more so was securing the first win of the season.”

Last season, the 24-year-old scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 33 Serie A matches for Udinese before signing for Antonio Conte’s side on loan, with an option to buy. The target forward earned his debut for the Italian national team in October 2024 and has since played a total of 5 appearances for the Azzurri.
