Napoli step up pursuit of La Liga starlet to beat Juventus competition

Napoli are pushing ahead in their pursuit of Miguel Gutierrez, with the club determined to secure a deal for the highly-rated Girona left-back ahead of growing competition, including from a Serie A giant.

Sporting director Giovanni Manna has been working on the move for months, keeping a low profile while building a strong rapport with the player’s entourage.

However, now that Juventus is reportedly showing interest, Calciomercato.com reports that the Partenopei are looking to accelerate negotiations and close the deal as soon as possible.

A product of Real Madrid’s youth academy, Gutierrez has blossomed in La Liga since joining Girona in 2022, where his technical ability, vision, and attacking instincts have made him one of the standout full-backs in Spain.

The 23-year-old has one goal and five assists from 29 league appearances this season, a form which has further strengthened Napoli’s interest in the full-back.

The Partenopei believe Gutierrez offers an ideal blend of tactical discipline and flair on the ball to strengthen their squad. With negotiations progressing rapidly, they are reportedly confident of fending off the competition and securing his signature.
