Nasri defends Juventus midfielder Pogba: The doctors should know it

Former France midfielder Samir Nasri has rejected Paul Pogba's doping claims.

The Juventus midfielder has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for testosterone last week. Pogba has requested a counter-analysis hearing which will be heard on October 5.

Nasri, who was hit with a doping ban late in his career, stated: "If Pogba gets a one-year ban, I think we won't see him at a great level again, because he won't be able to work in a training centre for ten months.

"When it happened to me, I decided not to do anything. In fact, to celebrate. Afterwards I trained with West Ham. It takes a lot of mental strength, because for ten months you have to train at home, in the gym, or even outside.

"I had a doctor's note who prescribed me a vitamin injection, there was no doping product, it was simply the dosage that was above the limit. I understand footballers who may not be aware of taking doping products, but sports doctors know it.

"Whoever recommended it to them is not really a friend or is completely off track."
