The Netherlands wants to join the five European nations that have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup and will need a result against Lithuania today in Amsterdam.

The Netherlands and Lithuania are in Group G of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers, and the Netherlands is top of the group with 17 points after seven matches played.

Their record after seven games is five wins, two draws, and no losses. Lithuania has yet to win in the group and cannot qualify for the World Cup after three draws and four losses after seven matches played.

The Netherlands recently played against second-place Poland a few days ago. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after Jakub Kaminski scored for Poland, but Memphis Depay scored the equalizer.

The draw against Poland puts them in a great position to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, and if the Netherlands does not lose to Lithuania, they will directly qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Lithuania's previous World Cup qualifier match was a 2-0 loss against Poland. Lithuania played a friendly match against Israel a few days ago, which finished in a 0-0 draw.
