New buy Ferguson scores 4 on Roma debut, El Aynaoui also on target

Evan Ferguson made a spectacular Roma debut with four goals in a 9-0 friendly win , while fellow new signing Neil El Aynaoui was also on target.

This was the second pre-season test for coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who took on UniPomezia, fresh from their promotion into Serie D.

They were set out in a 3-4-2-1 formation with Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé supporting former Brighton and Hove Albion striker Ferguson.

It was the new signing who made an immediate impact, completing a hat-trick in the opening 24 minutes, and adding a fourth personal goal on the hour mark.

Dybala also scored on a Ferguson assist, while debutant El Aynaoui was on target after the break.

Zeki Celik, Tommaso Baldanzi and youth team talent Antonio Arena finished the 9-0 rout.

The Giallorossi paid €3m to Brighton for the loan of Republic of Ireland international Ferguson, with an option to buy at the end of the season for a further €38m.
