Brentford star Yoane Wissa has a decision to make regarding his future as Tottenham and other PL clubs are keen to land him
There is an urgent need to address the ‘number nine’ position at Tottenham. The Lilywhites are racing against time to land a prolific striker that could partner up with Dominic Solanke up front and give the England international some healthy competition for a spot in the starting eleven. As we approach the business-end of the transfer window, fans will hope that the issues up front are addressed quickly.
The North London club needs to bring in another forward in the coming weeks just a year after Levy spent a fortune on Solanke. The 27-year-old found the initial months at N17 challenging following his high-profile move. He looked out of place under Ange Postecoglou last season. And the lack of competition for the starting spot meant that the 27-year-old had to play week in week out, despite being in dire need of a rest.
Richarlison’s injury concerns and lack of form did not help the cause either. The Brazil international has not lived up to his standards at N17, and it is clear to see why Spurs want to get rid of him. The 28-year-old is heavily linked with a move to Vasco de Gama, and the Lilywhites are willing to cash-in on him if a suitable offer comes up.
Tottenham are aiming to bring in a forward that would keep Dominic Solanke on his toes and compete with the Englishman for a place in the starting eleven. The Lilywhites have identified Brentford star Yoane Wissa for that reason, and consider the prolific striker as the perfect player to fill the void left behind by Richarlison.
The DR Congo international is also keen on a summer move as he looks to take the next step in his career. Taking notice of that, other top clubs have also registered their interest in the Brentford star. As per GiveMeSport, Newcastle United have Wissa on their radar and the Magpies will go all in for the striker if they miss out on Hugo Ekitike.
This report comes after other Premier League clubs also looked to land the 28-year-old in the summer. It was reported earlier that Liverpool also entered the race for Yoane Wissa as they look to bolster their attack and retain the league title next season. This indicates that the Brentford striker has made huge strides since making the switch to England in 2021.
Daniel Levy must act fast if he wants to land the DR Congo international. Spurs are said to be the favourites to land Wissa after it was reported that the striker is linked with a £50m move to N17. With time running out and other clubs stepping up their interest in the Brentford star, Tottenham must up their ante if they want to land Wissa in the summer.
