Newcastle United have a tough challenge on their hands if they want to bring Dean Huijsen to St. James’ Park. On Thursday, The i Paper reported that the club have already held talks with Huijsen’s camp, but there’s a sense that his attention may be focused elsewhere.

The report adds Newcastle are eager to act in the transfer market as they gear up for European competition. They’re keen to avoid drawn-out negotiations like last summer’s unsuccessful attempt to sign Marc Guehi.

Huijsen, meanwhile, has become one of the most sought-after names in the Premier League after a standout season with Bournemouth. Moreover, many expect the center-back to move on during the summer window.
