Newcastle United enjoyed a historic 2024/25 campaign, winning the EFL Cup and finishing fifth in the Premier League, to qualify for the Champions League. It remains to be seen what business the club will do before the transfer window closes on September 1. However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Newcastle is eying Benjamin Sesko, with Alexander Isak reportedly keen on leaving the club. (More to Follow).
Newcastle have been fairly quiet this summer thus far, signing Antonio Cordero and Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest. Eddie Howe will be eager to strengthen his squad with Champions League football on the horizon.
According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, Isak has informed Newcastle of his desire to leave the club this summer. The club are now exploring the market, working on multiple deals, including Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
Isak has been a revelation since arriving at St James’ Park, scoring 27 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions last season. However, it appears he is unhappy with Newcastle United’s Sporting Director, Paul Mitchell and has now expressed a desire to leave. His departure would be a hammer blow for Eddie Howe, who is determined to build on last season’s success.
Benjamin Sesko is one of several deals Newcastle are currently exploring, with the club now informed of the costs involved. Sesko has been described as a “ridiculous” talent with an “incredible skillset” by former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Sesko is a player with huge potential. He’s quick, strong and knows where the goal is, never shying away from the physical side. His willingness to work hard makes him a valuable outlet, and stylistically, he looks like a strong fit for Newcastle.
