Neymar joins Puma after ending long Nike partnership

After having a partnership with Nike for 15 years, Neymar is moving on to a new brand.

The Paris Saint-Germain star announced Saturday that he's joining Puma. Neymar's arrival was announced on the Puma website with the banner "The king is back" and "Welcome to the family Neymar JR."

According to ESPN, only four executives knew about the pursuit to land Neymar. Apparently, it was a "big secret" within the company that it had been working to sign the player for a few months.

Neymar recently resumed training with PSG this week after missing their opening Ligue 1 match against Lens after testing positive for the coronavirus.

The 28-year-old has helped PSG win three Ligue 1 titles and also helped them reach the Champions League final in August.
