Manchester United are a club steeped in immense history and having the chance to wear the colours of the Red Devils is, for many, considered an achievement in itself.
Some go on to produce moments to remember for the Old Trafford-based outfit, though others are not so lucky.
Take Danny Simpson, who recently represented Stretford Paddock, as the prime example.
His Red Devils career failed to take off in the way that many hoped but he was still an attractive prospect for other clubs.
That is the direct effect of playing for Manchester United.
On a similar note, given the size and stature of the 13-time Premier League, players are often attractive to some of the biggest and best companies in the world.
Sportswear companies, in particular, are always keen to sign the best talents around.
In March, Mason Mount has signed with Mizuno Football – a football boot company looking to rival the big hitters – and another Manchester United player has now been signed to Nike.
Joining the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, JJ Gabriel and Jaice Dore is Jessica Anderson.
The United Women midfielder – who recently made her debut against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League – took to Instagram to announce that she had signed to the world-leading sports brand.
“Delighted to be joining the Nike family! So excited for the future,” the 17-year-old wrote.
Hannah Blundell and Safia Middleton-Patel are two teammates of Anderson’s who congratulated her on the news.
“Things you love to see,” replied Blundell alongside three fire emojis. Middleton joked: “Lend me a pair of boots.”
Born in 2008, Anderson is yet to play a minute of Women’s Super League action but will be hoping to be a key figure for Marc Skinner in the coming months and years.
Nike’s swift move to notice the traction around Jessica Anderson and tie her down to a deal could become shrewd in years to come given how talented the England Under-20 international is.
Having joined the club in January 2025, it is only a matter of time before Anderson – who wears No.47 for Skinner’s side – breaks into regular proceedings.
For now, she’ll be gleaming from ear to ear by virtue of the fact that she is now part of the exclusive Nike family.
