There will be no transfer “revolutions” at Inter Milan, with Hakan Calhanoglu the only big name likely to leave.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They also report that the Nerazzurri will keep hold of all the veterans in the squad.
Recent days have seen rumours emerge that Inter’s squad could be in for significant upheaval.
It is no secret that Hakan Calhanoglu may be on the way out. The former AC Milan midfielder is at the centre of strong links to Galatasaray.
However, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez not-so-subtly called out the Turk over this perceived lack of loyalty.
And in so doing, Martinez may have upended the Nerazzurri dressing room with his comments. At least according to the rumours.
After all, Martinez did implore “whoever wants to leave, leave.” Whilst Martinez’s words may have mainly been aimed at Calhanoglu, it’s not impossible that other players got the message.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, though, this is all a lot of speculation.
In reality, the newspaper report, Martinez’s words have hardly changed all Inter’s transfer plans for the summer.
Indeed, Calhanoglu’s prospective move to Galatasray remains its own unique situation.
Inter will certainly listen to offers from the Turkish champions should Calhanoglu ask for the move. But they are not going to suddenly offload other key figures in the squad – barring surprise bids.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, the priority for Inter is still keeping the squad together.
For example, the newspaper anticipate that all of Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, Yann Sommer, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will stick around for another season.
