On Wednesday evening, a fan consultation meeting was held with the signatories of the recent Open Letter to Celtic FC, a letter which, despite representing tens of thousands of supporters, has yet to be addressed by the club itself.
That silence speaks volumes, but the supporters are determined to ensure their voices will not be ignored.
The meeting, attended by 85 in person and 175 online, was the second step in acting as a collective fan movement for positive change. What emerged was an overwhelming consensus, underpinned by a tally of 38,832 Celtic fans engaged ahead of the meeting.
The message is that confidence in the current leadership critically low. Supporters are seeking the removal of CEO Michael Nicholson, CFO Chris McKay, and chairman Peter Lawwell.
Alongside this, fans committed to building a strategic and escalatory campaign against the board, while also pursuing the creation of a democratic and representative fan body to give the support a permanent voice in how our club is run.
As part of that campaign, Sunday’s match at Kilmarnock will see a coordinated ‘late entry’ protest.
Fans are being asked to gather in the concourse for the opening 10 minutes before taking their seats to loudly and visibly back the team. The message is, support for the players and manager remains absolute, but discontent with those in charge will not be silenced.
