‘Not expected to play again this season’ – Dan Kilpatrick shares latest on injured Tottenham player
Yukihito Taguchi-USA TODAY Sports

Journalist Dan Kilpatrick has shared the latest on Ivan Perisic and it is no good news for Tottenham.

The 34-year-old Croatian is currently sidelined with an ACL injury which he suffered during training back in September.

He was in great form under Ange Postecoglou, and had made quite a few significant contributions, in particular in his last few games.

In fact, during the game against Sheffield United, he assisted one goal and played a key role in setting up the winner as Spurs completed the stunning comeback.

But that may have been his final contribution for the club. The ACL injury he picked up needed a surgery and while the surgery went well, the road to recovery is long.

Despite being on the path to recovery, prospects of Perisic donning the Tottenham colors again this season appear bleak.

Reporting the current nightmare situation at the club for Kilpatrick wrote (Evening Standard):

“James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Manor Solomon are also sidelined until the New Year, while Ivan Perisic is not expected to play again this season and Ryan Sessegnon and Ashley Phillips are also injured.”

There are reports suggesting he will be leaving the club in January. Alasdair Gold previously reported that he might depart in the upcoming transfer window to join Hajduk Split.

But that could change now due to his injury. Whether he leaves in January or next summer, one thing that’s almost certain is that he may not play for Spurs again.
