Pundit Danny Murphy says that Chelsea are never going to be where they want to be if they are under this same structure.
Murphy believes that Chelsea have no chance of challenging for the Premier League or the Champions League unless they change their philosophy.
Chelsea’s project has been highly criticised. They sign up young players who are raw and may come good, but they ignore signing players for the here and now. Their wage structure restricts them being able to buy elite players, and that is the biggest problem here.
In quotes picked up on X today, Murphy said:
“The reality is you’re not going to get Chelsea up competing to win leagues and Champions Leagues with their philosophy. It’s not going to happen. So they either change that or they get what they get.”
And he’s absolutely spot on there as well. If Chelsea don’t change things drastically this summer with their recruitment, then they will continue to struggle big time.
Former scout Mick Brown has said that Chelsea’s dressing room is getting “toxic” and Liam Rosenior may not be able to handle it. We don’t think he’s wrong with this either, it’s not good.
Liam Rosenior’s job is safe as Chelsea manager – at least if you believe the briefs doing the rounds at the moment. But of course, we’ve heard that all before with all their previous managers, who soon left not long after!
