Premier League clubs Nottingham Forest and Everton are interested in signing Como winger Assane Diao, reports from Italy claim.
According to what has been reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport, the English duo are keen on the Senegal international but Como see the 19-year-old, like Nico Paz, as at the heart of the club’s project.
Paz has also been the target of interest from England, with reports claiming that Como rejected a €40 million offer for the Argentine from Tottenham Hotspur.
Diao only joined Como in January of this year, for a reported fee of €12 million from La Liga side Real Betis. Since his arrival in Italy, the 19-year-old scored eight goals and assisted once in 15 Serie A appearances. His value has already started to sky-rocket and with a contract that does not expire until 2029, Como have no desire to sell.
If a big enough offer does come in, much like if a team were to meet the club’s €70 million valuation of Nico Paz, Como may reconsider their stance on Diao but for now the Senegalese starlet is seen as too instrumental to Cesc Fabregas’ set-up to even evaluate selling the player.
