Tottenham Hotspur are anticipating a busy end to summer transfer business as they work on deals to land both Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and Manchester City winger Savinho.
Spurs are preparing a second bid for Savinho after the first offer worth £43m proposal got rejected earlier this week. Formal talks are about to commence with Crystal Palace for Eze, who has been identified as an option to fill the void in Thomas Frank’s squad created by James Maddison’s serious knee injury.
In addition to both Eze and Savinho, the Lilywhites also remain in the market for a new striker. A reliable back-up for club-record signing Dominic Solanke is being sought, owing to persistent injury problems for Richarlison. Solanke, too, had a spell on the sidelines last season and missed the majority of this summer’s pre-season tour with an ankle injury before making his return against PSG in the UEFA Super Cup in Udine on Wednesday night.
Richarlison, who is being considered a sellable asset this summer, delivered a strong performance in the Super Cup clash against PSG but his patchy injury record means it will be risky for Thomas Frank to rely on the Brazilian throughout the 2025/26 campaign if he ends up staying at the club.

Tottenham have been keeping tabs on Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo over the last couple of months. In fact, the North London club had established contact with Rennes over a possible deal for their star forward, who netted 18 goals and supplied four assists in all competitions the previous campaign.
As things have not moved forward between Tottenham and Rennes, one of our Premier League rivals have made a concrete effort to sign the Frenchman. According to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, Nottingham Forest have sent formal €30m bid to sign Kalimuendo. Negotiations between Nottingham Forest and Rennes are now underway.
It is no secret that Forest are looking for reinforcements in attack, having sold Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United last month. While they have signed Dan Ndoye as Elanga’s replacement, the Tricky Trees perhaps want Kalimuendo to compete and cover for Chris Wood in the upcoming season, where they have been promoted to the Europa League at the expense of Crystal Palace.
Last season was a proof that Tottenham can neither rely on Solanke nor Richarlison to stay fit and supply goals consistently. Solanke missing the majority of this summer’s pre-season tour further accentuated the need to bring in someone who would not only add depth to the squad but also stay healthy and be available to the head coach for the entirety of the campaign.
Kalimuendo, in that regard, would have been ideal. The France youth international showed he can find the back of the net regularly if provided with service in and around the box. He can press, link-up play well, run the channels and can also operate on both flank if required, so the Rennes star ticks a lot of boxes.
Unfortunately, Forest have submitted a bid and remain in concrete negotiations with the Ligue 1 club for the signing of Kalimuendo. The club missing out on Kalimuendo would be a big blow and it is down to Daniel Levy, as we did not follow up our interest after establishing contact with Rennes over a possible deal in July.
