Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is attracting interest from Serie A giants Roma and Napoli along with two Premier League clubs, according to Sky Sports. The 24-year-old has played a key role in Nottingham Forest’s remarkable season, scoring five goals and providing two assists as they have defied all expectations to push for Champions League qualification.
The winger is thought to be focusing on Forest’s remaining games, with Champions League football still to play for, and will assess all of his options in the summer. The East Midlands side are reportedly trying to agree a new deal to keep the winger at the City Ground, but nothing has been signed so far.
Nottingham Forest signed Hudson-Odoi from boyhood club Chelsea back in 2023, paying just £5 million for a player who had initially impressed for the Blues as a teenager but seemed to have lost his way slightly. Now, £5 million looks an absolute steal, with Hudson-Odoi quickly looking more like the player that won three England caps at just 18 years old and had Bayern Munich offering £70 million for his services.
Although always a talented player, under Nuno Espirito Santo, the winger has refined his game, dramatically increasing his goal output. Hudson-Odoi scored just four goals in the 74 league games he played for Chelsea but has already netted 13 in the 57 he has played for Forest.
Famed for his ability to cut in from the left flank and strike the ball powerfully with his right foot, the 24-year-old has an eye for memorable goals and is regularly able to fashion shooting positions thanks to his quick feet. His speed and directness make him extremely dangerous on the counter-attack, and the winger is also unafraid to track back and help his team out of possession.
Antonio Conte’s Napoli have had a highly impressive season, currently sitting second in the Serie A after 33 games, meaning a move to Naples would likely guarantee Champions League football. It was under Conte that Hudson-Odoi was given his Chelsea debut, so a reunion with the Italian manager could make Napoli an attractive destination.
Roma, now managed by former Chelsea and Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri, have endured a difficult season and currently languish in seventh place, two points off UEFA Conference League qualification.
The 24-year-old signed a three-year deal when he signed for the Tricky Trees back in 2023, so will be out of contract next summer. Unless Forest can tie the winger down to a longer deal, this summer may be their last chance to cash in on him.
The East Midlands club have reportedly opened initial talks with Hudson-Odoi’s representatives about a new contract, but it is believed that the former Chelsea man will assess all his options in the summer.
