AC Milan have officially confirmed the signing of Warren Bondo from AS Monza on a long-term deal in what was a deadline day swoop.

With Ismael Bennacer having pushed for a move to Marseille, the Rossoneri were forced to dip back into the window for another midfielder, and they went for a player that they have actually been linked with since 2021.

A statement on the club’s official website reads as follows: “AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Warren Bondo from AC Monza. The French midfielder has signed a contract with the Club lasting until 30 June 2029.

“Born in Évry, France, on 15 September 2003, he developed as a player in his home country and made his first-team debut with Nancy in November 2020. In June 2022, he moved to Monza, where he scored one goal in 52 appearances. Bondo will wear the number 38 shirt at AC Milan.”

Fabrizio Romano was among those to report that the deal is a permanent one worth €10m, and that he will replace Bennacer. The 21-year-old has played 52 times for Monza across all competitions since arriving, scoring one goal (which was actually against Milan) and adding one assist.

As mentioned, it is a deadline day swoop that was successful following over four years of tracking the player.
