English referee Michael Oliver will be in charge of the Champions League opener between Ajax and Inter Milan.
As confirmed by UEFA, via FCInterNews, Australian official Jarred Gillett will be on VAR Duty for the match.
Led by new boss Cristian Chivu, Inter Milan take on Ajax in their opening European match of the season this Wednesday.
Moreover, it will be a perfect opportunity for the Nerazzurri to bounce back from a 4-3 defeat at Juventus last weekend.
Needless to say, that’s also a chance to erase the memory of last season’s heartbreak in the Champions League final.
The referee for Wednesday’s match will be English official Michael Oliver.
Assisting Oliver in his duties will be fellow English referees Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring.
The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to another English referee, Sam Barrott.
In the VAR booth, Jarred Gillett will oversee the match to ensure to correct any errors by the on-pitch officials.
Assisting Gillett in his duties will be Michael Salisbury from England.
