This will be the second season in which the first phase of the competition is a 36-team mini-league, in which each team faces eight other teams.
This as opposed to the group stage consisting of eight groups of four teams.
The new format has meant that each team plays at least eight matches, rather than six.
Furthermore, it entails each team facing eight different opponents, rather than three home and away.
Inter Milan were in the final of last season’s Champions League.
The Nerazzurri faced a shock 5-0 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain. That saw what had been an impressive knockout stage run come to a screeching halt.
Prior to the knockouts, in which Inter eliminated the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, the Nerazzurri had won six of their league phase matches.
This season, Inter entered the draw for the league phase of the Champions League in pot one.
And Inter have learned their opponents for the league phase, where they will hope to progress directly to the round of sixteen and avoid a playoff round, as they did last season.
The Nerazzurri will face the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Slavia Prague, and Kairat Almaty at home.
Away, meanwhile, the Nerazzurri will take on the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Ajax, and Union Saint-Gilloise,
