Lazio have announced the signing of young Polish midfielder Adrian Przyborek, who has joined from Pogon on a permanent basis.
The Aquile have been keen to make up some ground after lifting the transfer ban that thwarted their summer plans. They have already acquired the services of Serbian striker Petar Ratkov, Dutch midfielder Kenneth Taylor, young Italian goalkeeper Edoardo Motta, and versatile attacker Daniel Maldini.
On Saturday, Przbyborek put pen to paper, becoming Lazio’s fifth January arrival. The Biancocelesti confirmed the news through an official statement published on the club’s official website.
SS Lazio announces that it has definitively acquired the rights to the contract Adrian Przyborek, who arrives from Pogoń Szczecin.
The 19-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with SS Lazio after agreeing personal terms and successfully passing a medical.
While the official note didn’t disclose any figures, previous reports in the Italian media expected the teenager to cost Lazio a transfer fee of €5 million, which could reach €7 million after adding bonuses. The young Pole had been developing his game at Pogon since 2020, and became a member of the first team in 2023. This season, he contributed with three goals and two assists in 19 appearances.
Przyborek originally plays as an attacking midfielder, so it will be interesting to see if and how he’ll be able to integrate into Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system. Perhaps he could emulate Luis Alberto, another natural playmaker who adjusted to a Mezz’ala role during his memorable stint at Formello.
