Official – Livio Marinelli To Referee Inter Milan Vs Sassuolo Serie A Clash

Referee Livio Marinelli will be in charge of Sunday’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Sassuolo.

As confirmed by Lega Serie A via FCInterNews, Ivano Pezzuto will be on VAR duty for the match.

Inter take on newly promoted Sassuolo in their first Serie A match since May 2024. Meanwhile, victory will be imperative for the home side.

Despite a flying start to the new season, Inter have lost back-to-back games to Udinese and Juventus.

Therefore, new boss Cristian Chivu has already come under scrutiny, with the Nerazzurri lagging six points behind pacesetters Napoli.

Livio Marinelli to Referee Inter Milan vs Sassuolo Clash – Pezzuto On VAR

The referee for Sunday evening’s match will be Livio Marinelli.

Assisting Marinelli in his duties will be Luca Mondin and Claudio Rossi.

The fourth official, Mario Perri, will oversee the match and correct any errors made by the on-pitch officials.

Ivano Pezzuto will be in the VAR booth.

Assisting Pezzuto in his duties will be Daniele Chiffi.

It’s fair to say that the refereeing controversy ruined Inter’s season in 2024/25.

However, controversy has eluded the Nerazzurri in the early 2025/26 campaign.

Therefore, Inter will hope the spotlight remains on the action on the pitch rather than on refereeing mistakes.
