Official – Marco Piccinini To Referee Cagliari Vs Inter Milan Serie A Clash

Referee Marco Piccinini will be in charge of Saturday’s Serie A clash between Cagliari and Inter Milan.

As confirmed by Lega Serie A via FCInterNews, Daniele Doveri will be on VAR duty for the match.

Inter take on Cagliari in their second away league match under Cristian Chivu. Meanwhile, victory will be imperative for the visiting side.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri bounced back from consecutive Serie A defeats with a narrow 2-1 win over Sassuolo last weekend.

Therefore, last season’s runners-up are looking to post back-to-back top-flight triumphs under Chivu for the first time.

Marco Piccinini to Referee Cagliari vs Inter Milan Clash – Doveri On VAR

The referee for Sunday evening’s match will be Marco Piccinini.

Assisting Piccinini in his duties will be Giovanni Moro and Vito Mastrodonato.

The fourth official, Luca Massimi, will oversee the match and correct any errors made by the on-pitch officials.

Daniele Doveri will be in the VAR booth.

Assisting Doveri in his duties will be Matteo Gariglio.

It’s fair to say that the refereeing controversy ruined Inter’s season in 2024/25.

However, controversy has eluded the Nerazzurri in the early 2025/26 campaign.

Therefore, Inter will hope the spotlight remains on the action on the pitch rather than on refereeing mistakes.
