Portuguese midfielder Matheus Nunes has completed his move to Manchester City it has been announced today. The announcement continues a busy morning of transfer activity at the Etihad. Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Cole Palmer have completed moves to Southampton and Chelsea respectively already this morning.

The European champions have sealed the deal for Nunes in a deal announced on their official website. The former Wolves man has signed a 5-year deal with the club Manchester City has confirmed.

Matheus Nunes has expressed his delight at joining the treble winners. Speaking on the official website about the move he said: “I’m very happy of course to be here. It’s a dream come true, I always wanted to play for a big club in England and this year God blessed me with that. So I’m very happy, very excited and I can’t wait to get started. I think it was an easy one.”

Before he arrived at the Premier League Champions, Matheus Nunes made 41 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers. He added a goal and an assist during his spell with Wolves. Before making the move to Wolves Nunes made his name at Sporting Lisbon. He made 101 appearances for the Portuguese giants contributing 8 goals and 9 assists in his time at Sporting.

Matheus Nunes can play in multiple positions in the centre of midfield. He can play as a number 6, an 8 or as a traditional number 10 when required.  His versatility will be a valuable weapon for Pep Guardiola as City seek to defend their treble of titles won last season.

He becomes Manchester City’s fourth signing of the transfer window. Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku have all arrived this summer.
