AC Milan forward Noah Okafor has been compared to Jon Dahl Tomasson as the Swiss player prepares to take Rafael Leao’s place on the left flank.

As explained by Calciomercato.com, the way that Okafor is used by Milan has similarities to former Rossoneri player Tomasson, who could play either on the wing or through the middle as a striker and was decisive from the bench.

Leao is going to be suspended for the next Serie A match against Empoli, and it is expected that Okafor will take his place on the left of the attack. It is a golden opportunity to show Stefano Pioli why he should play more often now he has recovered from his injury.

Okafor was the hero against Lazio on Friday night as he scored the 88th-minute winner to secure a 1-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico, so he could be set for a strong end to the season.

Okafor has scored four times this season from the bench, but he won’t be coming off of the bench against Empoli. He perhaps will, though, against Slavia Praha in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Leao will start that game given he is not eligible to play at the weekend.
