Former Arsenal defender and Leeds United manager David O'Leary has praised the London club's owner Stan Kroenke.
With the Gunners spending huge sums in the transfer market in recent years, O'Leary believes that manager Mikel Arteta is being fully backed.
He also believes that Kroenke's ambition and hiring of the right people has put the club back in the upper echelon of the game.
He told the Telegraph: "I'm not on their pay-roll [but] I think they have been unfairly done.
They have trusted people. I think they have put up a lot of money. A lot of money was wasted.
I think from spending stupid money on certain players, i.e. Pepe 75million [sic, 72million], in general we are buying good players. You will never get 100 per cent [right, but] it is a very well run club."
