The last season has been incredible for Crystal Palace and Oliver Glasner, with the Austrian manager hitting the ground running.
After joining the Premier League side in February 2024, he lead the side to their first major trophy, winning the FA Cup Final last season with a 1-0 win over Manchester City.
Going strength to strength, the Eagles went on to beat Premier League champions Liverpool on penalties in the Community Shield clash, lifting their second trophy in three months.
However, this season hasn’t followed the same path. The side are currently in 13th place in the league, and were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round by non-league side, Macclesfield.
Now, in his pre-match press conference ahead of their trip to Sunderland, Oliver Glasner opened up on his future as he comes to the end of his contract.
In the press conference, as reported by BBC Sport, Glasner commented: “I told Steve [Parish] and I am looking for a new challenge.”
He continued: “That is my feeling after everything. I told him in October. It is nothing to do with transfer window.
“All these rumours, I hate when something is written or talked that is not true, it was very tough for me not to respond.
“I have not talked to any other club. I have no interest. I told the players I would give my best ever season in Crystal Palace history.”
The rumours Glasner is referring to are likely to be the links with Manchester United, as the Crystal Palace has been tipped for some time to be the long-term replacement for Ruben Amorim.
News of the 51-year-old being a potential replacement came before Amorim had departed, however the move to sack the Portuguese manager seemed inevitable since late 2025.
Michael Carrick has taken charge as caretaker manager at Old Trafford for the rest of the season, however the hunt for a more elite permanent manager for next season is ongoing.
