Zachary Athekame and Santiago Gimenez will be the only unavailable players for Milan against Inter tomorrow, while Adrien Rabiot will start and Davide Bartesaghi will challenge Pervis Estupinan for a starting spot on the left flank.
Milan coach Allegri has provided the latest team news ahead of Sunday’s derby della Madonnina against city rivals Inter.
During his pre-match press conference on Saturday, Allegri confirmed that both Athekame and Gimenez won’t be available for selection against the Nerazzurri tomorrow.
Athekame is dealing with a soleus problem, while Gimenez has an ankle issue, said Allegri.
With the Mexico international out of action, Allegri is expected to pick Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic up front, starting the attacking pair for the first time in Serie A this season.
France international Rabiot will return from an injury and will surely start in the middle of the park, Allegri confirmed today, via Milan News.
I’ll decide today. Estupinan returned against Parma after 50 days on the sidelines. Bartesaghi is back after playing two games for 90 minutes. He trained well yesterday. It’s a long game; perhaps I’ll need both of them.
During his pre-match press conference, Allegri said Inter remain the Serie A title favourites alongside Napoli and said he expects a “fantastic” derby on Sunday.
