"Outstanding" Arsenal on "Different Planet" to Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder was full of praise for Arsenal following Monday's 6-0 hammering at Bramall Lane.

The Gunners had 80% of the ball and recorded 32 shots - 28 more than the Blades.

Arsenal were 5-0 up before half-time thanks to strikes from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice, plus a Jayden Bogle own goal.

Ben White then completed the rout 12 minutes into the second half with a powerful left-footed strike after being teed up by Havertz.

Arsenal have now won their last three away matches by an aggregate score of 17-0.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Monday's game, Wilder said that Arsenal were in a "different league" and on a "different planet" to his side.

Wilder had earlier told BBC Sport: "I think we, not gifted goals away, but could have done better in certain situations. Arsenal were outstanding. We didn't track runners and made it pretty easy for them to open us up.

"They cut us wide open, they are doing that to a lot of teams, I'm not saying that makes us feel better because that is another long night for this club.

"[Bukayo] Saka took us to pieces down that side, whatever you need to do you have to try and stem the tide, especially when they are in full flow. When they get five at the top of the pitch they find that pass and movement and then it is difficult to stop.

"We didn't have an answer to anything they had. The result is what the result is and we have to live with it."

The Gunners now boast the best goal difference (+45) of any team in England's top six divisions this season.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United look in real danger of breaking Derby County's record for the most goals conceded in a 38-game Premier League season.

Derby let in 89 goals in the 2007/08 campaign. The Blades have conceded 72 in 27 matches so far.
