Al Nassr faces Pakhtakor FC in the league stage of the AFC Champions League Elite today in Tashkent.
Manager Ange Postecoglou has decided to rest several players as they head into a congested schedule. As a result, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kingsley Coman, and Mohamed Simakan did not travel with the squad to Uzbekistan.
Despite these absences, the Saudi Arabian side are still favorites as they are riding a five-match winning streak which also includes a 5-3 win over Al Kholood in their last match.
In their AFC Champions League run this season, Postecoglou’s side started out with a 4-0 loss against Al Ain before they bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Neftchi Fergana.

On the other hand, their opponents are under significant pressure before the fixture, currently sitting 12th in the West region standings and still looking for their first win of the campaign. Though they managed a narrow 1-0 domestic win against Xorazm in the Uzbek Super League, they still haven’t won in their continental run having drawn two and lost one.
Despite their worrying form, Pakhtakor have lost only once in 13 fixtures at home and could be a tough side to break down without the likes of Coman and Ronaldo.
Khozhiabar Alizhonov is a doubt for Pakhtakor for today’s match after he was forced off in their match against Xorazm Urganch last week.
Apart from Ronaldo, Coman and Simakan’s absence, Samu Costa returns for Al Nassr after serving his suspension.
