The Italian press had nothing but positive things to say about Igor Tudor and his Juventus side after their 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park in a pre-season friendly on Sunday evening.
The Bianconeri, whose pre-season preparations began late after their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer, picked up an encouraging 2-1 win in Dortmund on Sunday at the end of their week-long training camp in Germany.
A brace from Italy international was enough for the Old Lady to claim victory, despite an 89th minute consolation from Dortmund’s Maximillian Baier.
Igor Tudor said that it is difficult to truly analyse pre-season fixtures, but said that attitude is of the utmost importance at this stage, and in terms of the team’s mentality, he is happy with what he saw.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, meanwhile, wrote that Juventus looked like a ‘real team’ during their 2-1 win over Dortmund, praising their fighting spirit and their energy in closing down the opposition.
The Pink Paper highlighted the performances of Kenan Yildiz, Cambiaso, Manuel Locatelli and returning defender Gleison Bremer.
Monday’s report also praised Juve for their ‘connection’ on the pitch, and their fearlessness in possession, particularly their bravery to play in potentially dangerous areas.
Corriere dello Sport also gave credit to Juventus for their ‘personality’, and wrote that they played with pace, intensity, creativity and quality throughout the full 90 minutes.
Tuttosport, meanwhile, rated Cambiaso as the best Bianconeri performer of the pre-season exhibition, and rated Francisco Conceicao, Yildiz and head coach Tudor among the other best Juventus performers on the day.
