Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar injured, might miss Barcelona clash

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar will be in a race to return to full fitness for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League match against Spanish giants Barcelona, Neymar's former club.

As noted by beIN Sport, the Brazilian forward went down due to a harsh challenge in the 56th minute of Wednesday's Coupe de France match versus Caen that PSG won 1-0:

Neymar attempted to continue playing but suffered an apparent groin injury and was ultimately subbed-off in favor of Kylian Mbappe.

Following the match, Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino offered no timetable for Neymar's return.

"It's hard to know now, we'll see [Thursday] with the doctor, for the moment it's hard to say," Pochettino explained, per ESPN. "Can he be there [at Barcelona] next week? I need more information. Is he affected in the adductors? Yes."

It's all-but-guaranteed that both Neymar and Angel Di Maria (thigh) will miss Saturday's Ligue 1 contest versus Nice, as Di Maria is already expected to be sidelined through at least next Tuesday night. Paris Saint-Germain are third in the league table and three points behind leaders Lille, while Barcelona are third in La Liga and eight points off leaders Atletico Madrid.
