Parma captain Enrico Delprato has offered an update on Inter Milan target Giovanni Leoni.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Delprato claimed the 18-year-old is happy to stay at Stadio Ennio Tardini.
Giovanni Leoni has emerged as Inter’s top defensive target.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu is eager to reunite with his former pupil at San Siro.
Furthermore, the player feels the same and wants to continue his career at Inter despite drawing a lot of inquiries.
Several clubs in Serie A and abroad have taken interest in Giovanni Leoni.
For context, AC Milan and Juventus are ready to rival Inter for the up-and-coming center-back.
However, foreign competition looks even more formidable.
In addition to Liverpool, Manchester United have recently joined the race for the Italian starlet.
Yet, Inter remain in the driver’s seat.
Meanwhile, Delprato believes the youngster would be happy to stay at Parma for another season.
“His performances last season were there for all to see,” Delprato said.
“We see him every day, we know him well, and what stands out is that he always gives his all in every training session.
“He needs to keep that calm and carefree attitude, even though he’s still very young, because he has great qualities,” he added.
“We’re happy to have him as a teammate. He feels good here and he’s a real asset.
“What surprises me most is that he doesn’t get caught up in chatter – he’s completely focused on his daily work and improving himself.”
Inter may focus on Leoni once they complete the purchase of Ademola Lookman.
