Two days ago, we reported that Parma needed to move quickly for a goalkeeper after Suzuki’s serious injury: an injury that will keep him out for several months.
And in that context, I mentioned a very experienced free agent: Vicente Guaita, who turns 39 next January, a Spaniard like Cuesta.
Those indications have now been confirmed. Parma have sounded him out and have intensified contact in order to reach a full agreement.
From the list of options, the club have already ruled out several Italian specialists, including Cragno, who is just coming off an injury himself.
Vito Mannone is also in the mix: a name highlighted by multiple sources three days ago, but right now Guaita is the hottest, most advanced track.
Parma are preparing to make their choice, fully aware that securing a position as delicate as goalkeeper becomes crucial during a phase as complicated as this one. And they know it will take time before Suzuki is back between the posts.
