Serie A side Parma have signed experienced goalkeeper Guaita on a free transfer, the club confirmed with an official statement on Saturday morning.

Guaita had been without a club since July 1, 2025, after the end of his contract with Celta Vigo.

He was drafted in to replace the injured Zion Suzuki, who will remain out of action for at least three months after undergoing surgery for a fracture in the middle finger of his left hand.

Football Italia reported earlier this week that Guaita was Parma’s priority target to replace Suzuki.

We had also explained how the experience of the Spanish goalkeeper played a key role in Parma’s decision, as the Ducali needed a solid option to replace one of their best players.

Guaita played for five seasons at Crystal Palace, from 2018 to 2023, making 154 appearances with the English club.

The 38-year-old goalkeeper has picked the shirt number 13.
