Paul Scholes demands that Manchester United sign Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze to bolster their attack during the summer window. Eze impressed the Red Devils’ midfield legend during England’s 3-1 defeat to Senegal in an international friendly game on Tuesday.

United have prioritised the attacking department under Ruben Amorim during this summer window amid a squad overhaul before next season. The last season’s embarrassment remains fresh in the minds of the Red Devils fans and everyone associated with the club.

The Manchester giant finished 16th in the Premier League last season, well below their immense stature in the football world. While the squad’s inability to adjust to Amorim’s tactics was one big reason, United’s attack have struggled before he arrived.

Amorim immediately decided to loan Marcus Rashford and Antony, as they failed to impress the Portuguese enough to stay put. United have also decided to sell Alejandro Garnacho during the summer window, due to his struggle with inconsistency last season.

Scholes used his Instagram account (via Metro) to demand a summer transfer move from United for Palace star attacker Eze. His post wrote:

“Just buy him…”

The England international made 43 appearances for Palace in all competitions last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. Eze’s dazzling skills and contributions are backed by his versatility to play more centrally if required by his manager.

However, Palace would demand that any potential suitor trigger his £68 million release clause to lure the 26-year-old attacker away. United have already signed Matheus Cunha and are close to securing the transfer of attacker Bryan Mbeumo.

These transfers have already cost them a total sum of more than £120mil. without selling a single surplus player yet. With their dire financial situation, the Red Devils could make any potential move after selling their surplus.

United have to strengthen other areas as well; however, Eze is a kind of player they cannot simply ignore. The potential of Eze, combining with Cunha and Mbeumo, is a threat for any opposition team in the Premier League.
