TNT Sports’ Paul Scholes has expressed concerns as Manchester United continues to push to sign the Wolves attacking star. ‘Scholes’ main worry is that he doesn’t believe the Brazilian ace would flourish at Old Trafford.

“He looks like he’s got the attributes that Ruben Amorim wants,” Scholes said (h/t TEAMtalk). “He knows that physically, his team are just not strong or quick enough, so Matheus Cunha is obviously athletic, and he’s got quality with 15 league goals this season. I just worry for any signing coming to Manchester United at the minute. It just feels like it’s such a bad place to go. The quality of play right now is so poor.

“And with Cunha, is he a centre-forward or is he a wide player? There’s no doubt that he has quality and of course, it would be nice to sign him, but I worry about where he fits in. You can sign the best three players in the world, and I think they’ll struggle coming into this team at the minute, but they’ve got to start somewhere.”

TEAMtalk reported Sunday that Manchester United have made a contract offer to Matheus Cunha, and his potential move to Old Trafford could have significant implications for one current Red Devils player.

United have been in discussions with Cunha’s camp for some time, and negotiations are advancing quickly. However, they may need to act fast, as other Premier League clubs are also showing interest.

According to TEAMtalk, United have offered a five-year deal, set to run until June 2030. Initially, they proposed a four-year contract with an option for a fifth, but talks have since shifted toward a direct five-year agreement.

The report also mentions that Arsenal, Aston Villa, and a few Saudi clubs are monitoring Cunha’s situation and could make a move if negotiations with United begin to falter.
