Lorenzo Pellegrini and Davide Frattesi would fit well in just about any midfield, but will Roma and Inter receive convincing offers in the January transfer window?

There is a month and a half to go until the market opens up again, so is there anyone out there genuinely prepared to pay up for these two players?

Frattesi and Pellegrini could shift Scudetto race

It is not even just about the fee on offer, because both Roma and Inter also have to take into consideration where these midfielders could be going, as they cannot afford to reinforce direct rivals for a place in the Serie A table and the potential Scudetto race.

Frattesi’s future has been an on-going mystery for several transfer sessions now, while Pellegrini had been on the verge of a departure from Roma over the summer, until deciding to remain with the contract running down in June 2026.

There is still time, but so far he has not been approached with the proposal to sign an extension, so could still run it down and leave for free at the end of the season.
