
Manchester United held their annual scholarship intake event at Old Trafford on Friday night.
Contracts were awarded to the club’s best players who are set to turn 17 in the coming months.
A key pillar of the football club, the Manchester United Academy has produced some of football’s best names.
From George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton to Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Marcus Rashford, arguably the biggest club in England consistently delivers with its finding and nurturing of talent.
Rather than forking out on expensive transfers, United’s main success has come when their academy has been at its best. The Class of 92 is a huge example of this, all players who came through and became household names at the football club.
This summer, Manchester United are finding the transfer market a tricky place to operate, as they search to find their next midfield signing, following the coup of Brazilian Ederson. Focus on producing bright stars could be the remedy to this, as seen with the recent rise of Kobbie Mainoo.
One player who was signed was forward Pharrel Silvester, as a family member took to X to celebrate the exciting prospect’s signing. Silvester is an exciting young talent, and was called up to the England U15’s setup alongside JJ Gabriel in 2024.
Alongisde Silvester, the signing of brother of United player Amir, Gazik Ibragimov, was celebrated. The 16-year-old belongs to an extremely sporty family, and all share Manchester United in their hearts.
It’s another exciting moment for Manchester United’s academy, as they welcome another player into the fold. Pharell Silvester will be hoping to make an impact this season, as he develops at the Red Devils’ excellent facilities.
