A VAR check after Marcus Rashford’s last-minute winner deemed Edinson Cavani onside.

It was, in fact, the correct decision but we wanted to point out how close it was to being offside.

Had Anthony Martial held onto the ball a second longer, the Uruguayan would’ve likely ended up in an offside position, but his experience shined through to play Rashford in to tap the ball home.

The win puts United fourth in the league table for tonight and we’ll be hoping Chelsea and Tottenham ends in a draw on Sunday.

Thanks to Cavani staying online and Rashford hitting the target, United find themselves in a stronger position to finish in the top four than, say, a month ago when Ralf Rangnick came in as interim manager.

Next up in the league — following the international break and FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough — is Burnley. We should definitely take three points from them!

Roll on the FA Cup…
