Pierre Kalulu eyed by Manchester United

Manchester United are currently in the middle of the January transfer window, with the club linked with players that could improve the quality of their squad.

United, who are fifth in the Premier League currently, were set a target of European football by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and could view the window as an opportunity to not only secure this aim, but to push into the UEFA Champions League places.

One player the Red Devils have been linked with is Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The forward, currently playing for Crystal Palace, has scored ten goals so far this season whilst also assisting two times as well.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have rejected a bid for the French international frontman already which could motivate United to pursue the striker’s services even more.

Now, the club have been linked with a move for Pierre Kalulu, who currently plays for Juventus in Serie A.

According to Calcio Mercato, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur are all eyeing a move for the defender.

Furthermore, the source has also stated that the Italian outfit are looking for a price around €30 million for the 25-year-old.

Pierre Kalulu has played 21 times for Juventus this season, scoring once whilst assisting twice.

The defender has also made 32 tackles and won 65 duels, showing his abilities when in defensive situations.

However, it is when he has the ball when the defender shows his strengths. So far this season, the 25-year-old has made 1,149 successful passes with a successful pass rate of 89.2%. Meanwhile, he has also created 18 chances.

Now, supporters could look towards current manager Michael Carrick to see if he provides any insights into United’s interest in the defender.
