AC Milan may soon have a full department of midfielders available given that Tommaso Pobega is on the mend, according to a report.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) on the newsstands this morning talks about Milan’s injury situation and shares some good news regarding the midfield, starting with the condition of Ismael Bennacer.

The Algerian’s problem does not cause concern despite the fact that he left Algeria’s training camp during the week due to minor muscle pain. In agreement with the AC Milan medical staff, the Algerian national team sent Bennacer home to observe a few days of complete rest.

The former Empoli man is thus proceeding with the program planned before the match against Fiorentina on Saturday night, having avoided any actual muscle problem.

In a few days Tommaso Pobega will also be back with the rest of the squad after three months out. Back on December 21st, the Italian midfielder underwent surgery to repair the left rectus femoris tendon.

After the match with Fiorentina, Pobega will gradually begin to work with the team and should be available to Pioli for the end of the season, which means that the head coach will hopefully then have the full complement available.
