Ange hails Son Heung-min’s exemplary attitude amid challenging season at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have endured an abysmal domestic campaign, languishing as low as 17th in the table – a position few could’ve imagined at the start of the season. However, the Europa League final now offers Ange Postecoglou and his squad a golden chance at redemption after months of criticism.

Postecoglou has experienced a whirlwind of emotions in his first season at the helm. The former Celtic boss has had to cope with a string of injuries to key players and, at times, has struggled to adapt with the level of pragmatism the situation demanded.

There has been speculation about the future of Tottenham’s captain, Son Heung-min. However, in a recent interview with Stadium Astro, Ange Postecoglou made it clear that he wants to keep Son at the club if it were his decision.

When asked about Son and his frustrations this season, Postecoglou spoke only positively about his captain. It’s easy to see why — the Korean star is just one game away from winning his much needed trophy and silencing his critics. With 274 goal contributions in 453 appearances, Son stands as one of Spurs’ modern legends.

Not just anyone can replace the Captain at Tottenham

The Gaffer speaking in an interview with Stadium Astro, remarked that Son Heung-min’s campaign has reflected the struggles of the club, but like Tottenham, Son has been willing to work through the tough times competing for success.

And even with injury, not playing too many matches and some other times he hasn’t reached the high bar, Son has kept fighting, he has kept a good attitude and set a strong example for the team, because he is a top player both on and off the pitch.

The Australian highlighted that his commitment and resilience this season demonstrates that same fighting spirit over the course of his career.

The Australian speaking in an interview by Stadium Astro expressed his admiration for the Skipper

“So he hasn’t changed, he’s been important for us on and off the field this year and you know I think he understands that football is not a smooth process, he’s had his own challenges in his career, he’s had to fight hard to come from Asia and sort of dominate and play at this level for so long.

“It’s rare for a player from that side of the world to do that, he’s had to overcome many obstacles and he’s done the same this year.”

As the Europa League final approaches, all eyes are on Son Heung-min and Tottenham to deliver a performance worthy of his incredible resilience and dedication. We’re optimistic that this could be the moment the team rewards their talisman with the ultimate prize — the Europa League trophy — finally giving him the glory he truly deserves.
