One Premier League defender may need to push for the move should he want to join Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
This news comes after Chelsea beat Real Betis to win the Conference League on Wednesday night after being a goal down at half time and turning it around.
The Blues ended up winning the game 4-1 in the end after a bit of a Cole Palmer masterclass in the second half, providing two beautiful assists for his team mates to grab crucial goals.
Although head coach Enzo Maresca is once again not willing to get carried away after this by insisting that Chelsea’s target for next season is not going to be winning the Champions League!
Chelsea want Branthwaite
I put this info out on my X account via our own sources yesterday:
‘Chelsea want Jarrad Branthwaite and have reached out on the player side. So far the asking price is too high but there’s a feeling that the defender is destined to move this window and Chelsea sense an opportunity.
‘More coming tomorrow on my website & already on Substack App.’
So what I’ve got from this is that id he wants to go to Chelsea, he will probably have to ask and push for the move.
Others reporting Branthwaite interest
The Daily Mail also report that Chelsea are weighing up an approach for Jarrad Branthwaite but Toffees boss David Moyes is reluctant to sell him.
With James Tarkowski recovering from hamstring surgery, Moyes would be thin on options at the back if Branthwaite were to depart.
Chelsea’s interest in Branthwaite comes after it was previously reported that Manchester United were willing to fork out more than £50million to land him this summer, but Everton want £70million.

Well, unfortunately it looks like this one is further behind than Hato to Chelsea, but it also does not look like talks have broken down at all. Romano said this last night on the Simons deal: “First step [on attackers], go for Xavi Simons, conversations advanced with Leipzig, then next step consider [Alejandro] Garnacho as an opportunity in month of August, if United conditions to sell will match up with Chelsea conditions. For this all to happen, Chelsea will also need Nkunku and Sterling to go, and for Garnacho obviously to not go elsewhere.” Hopefully today brings a breakthrough I expect to hear something more positive on Simons today as well. But if it goes on much longer then you wonder if it will even get done at all and if one party will walk away from the deal. However, I am sure it is all just part and parcel of negotiations and there are just some final details to still tie up.

Defensive prospect Ben Danford is the only Maple Leafs player invited to the annual showcase, where Canada's World Junior staff will get their first look at what their team might look like for the 2026 World Juniors, which will also take place in Minnesota in December. Danford is being called the best player at the World Juniors Summer Showcase Danford has been exceeding expectations, and one source revealed that he has been the best player at the World Junior Showcase so far. Pitcher bizarrely faces old team on same day of trade
Seranthony Dominguez certainly had an eventful day on Tuesday. The veteran MLB reliever began the day on the Baltimore Orioles and was with his teammates in the dugout during the first leg of a doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays. The O's went on to win, 16-4, at Oriole Park in Baltimore, though Dominguez did not pitch during the game. But the day took a bizarre turn when the two teams agreed to a deal in the middle of the doubleheader. The Orioles traded Dominguez to the Blue Jays in exchange for minor league pitcher Juaron Watts-Brown. That led to a strange scene where Dominguez switched clubhouses after being traded, walking across the hallway to get to the Toronto side. Things got even weirder during the second leg of the doubleheader. Dominguez got the call to pitch for the Blue Jays against his former team. He had to walk past his ex-Baltimore teammates to get to the Toronto bullpen, and then entered the game in the seventh inning to pitch. Here is the unusual spectacle that saw Dominguez pitch against the guys that he began the day as teammates with. The whole thing was so bizarre that it even looked like Dominguez received a hastily-made Blue Jays jersey with the “8” in his No. 48 apparently stuck on backwards. Dominguez, a 30-year-old in his seventh MLB season, ended up striking out two in a scoreless frame against his former team. We have certainly seen instances of MLB players getting traded in the middle of games before, but that had to be the first instance of a player starting the first half of a doubleheader on one team and then pitching in the second half for the other team.
