After losing 3-0 against Fulham at the weekend, Wolves decided to sack manager Vitor Pereira on Monday.

The race has begun to become the new Wolves manager but whoever takes the job should know that the task of saving them from relegation would be monumental.

After ten matches in the league this season, Wolves have managed to draw twice and have lost the other eight matches.

Wolves have started extensive search for a new manager

Wolves have officially started their search for a new manager, and according to Molineux News, the club’s shortlist is already taking shape with several high-profile names under consideration.

Among the early candidates are Gary O’Neil and Rob Edwards, both admired for their work in the Premier League and Championship, while Michael Carrick has also been mentioned following his impressive spell with Middlesbrough.

But perhaps the most intriguing developments involve two names that have caught the attention of the Wolves hierarchy, Brendan Rodgers and Robbie Keane.

Rodgers would be open to taking the Wolves job, should the opportunity arise. The former Leicester City and Celtic boss has been linked with several Premier League vacancies over the past year.

However, another fascinating twist in the managerial race comes in the form of Keane, who has formally applied for the position.

The former striker, who began his professional career at the club at just 17, is eager to return to Molineux in a managerial capacity.

Robbie Keane to become the new Wolves boss?

Keane has been steadily building his coaching résumé, serving as an assistant at Leeds United, Middlesbrough, and with the Republic of Ireland national team. Most recently, he managed Maccabi Tel Aviv, where his attacking brand of football and motivational leadership earned him plaudits.

They want someone who can inspire, not just manage. It remains to be seen who wins the race to become their next manager.

Whether they opt for the proven experience of Rodgers or the passion and promise of Keane, the Premier League strugglers have a big decision to make.
