Premier League Manager Sack Race

In the last week, we have seen two major sackings in the Premier League – both Enzo Maresca and Ruben Amorim were given the boot by Chelsea and Manchester United, respectively.

Today, we’ll look at the five Premier League head coaches who could be next on the chopping block. Who do you think will be the next manager to be given his marching orders?

Given 5 managers have already been put on gardening leave then surely more will follow?

Oliver Glasner

This may be a surprising inclusion for some. Oliver Glasner enjoyed a wonderful start to the season that saw Crystal Palace firmly in the Champions League spots, but events that have taken place since then have sullied the waters at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles are on a poor run of form as things stand. They have not won a Premier League game for almost a month now and have lost three of their last four games in England’s top division.

On top of this, Glasner has also announced he will not sign a new deal at Palace – with friction between him and the hierarchy becoming increasingly noticeable, a change wouldn’t be the most surprising outcome at this stage.

Scott Parker

Scott Parker has been a mainstay of our sack race lists this season. Burnley have been struggling throughout 2025/26 – the only thing keeping Parker in a job is the low expectations set by the Clarets.

Burnley are 19th in the Premier League table, are four points from safety and haven’t won a Premier League game since October. Regardless, there is the persistent feeling that they could conduct a great escape.

It’s highly unlikely – and the form that Parker has led them through over the last few weeks indicates that he might not be the man for the job.

Arne Slot

Again, Arne Slot is a name that has shown up in multiple of our sack race pieces. We needn’t repeat why – Liverpool have been bitterly disappointing over the course of the current season, especially so as reigning champions.

The goodwill from the previous campaign has long since eroded – now, Slot faces constant calls for his head, even as the Reds sit fourth in the Premier League table.

Is this enough for Slot to get the sack? The bookies certainly seem to think so, but Liverpool’s ownership have kept their guns holstered for now. The next few months will be critical for the Dutchman as he seeks to repair his reputation.

Thomas Frank

Despite a bright start, Thomas Frank’s tenure at Tottenham Hotspur has not gone according to plan. A string of poor performances have only increased the pressure on the former Brentford manager, who remains in a precarious position.

Spurs have won only one of their last five Premier League games – they suffered an ignominious 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest along the way.

Tottenham will take on Bournemouth and West Ham United in their next two Premier League games – if they lose both of those, one has to believe that Frank’s position at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will become untenable.

Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno Espirito Santo is, without hyperbole, hanging by a thread at West Ham. He was only appointed at the end of September, but the cutthroat nature of elite football means that something will have to give.

Before last weekend, West Ham were already on a bad run – however, a defeat against bottom club Wolves has greatly exacerbated matters.

West Ham are due to play Nottingham Forest tonight – a defeat in that game will surely spell the end of Nuno’s tenure.
